MEET ANGE

Rolling Stills is the photographic work of Angela Butler, a portrait and lifestyle photographer drawn to people in their natural environments — where character, connection and story unfold without pretense.

With a background in design and studio portraiture, Angela brings over 15 years of professional experience to her work. She specialises in portraits and environmental storytelling, working with individuals, families, communities and brands to create imagery that feels honest, grounded and deeply human.

Much of Rolling Stills has been shaped by time spent on the road. After travelling around Australia with her family for two years — documenting regional events, outback communities and life off the beaten track — Angela’s work carries a strong sense of place and a deep respect for the people who call it home. She is now based in Western Australia’s South West, continuing to work across WA and regional Australia.

Angela also collaborates closely with her husband, Jacob “Shakey” Butler, a renowned mural artist and live wedding painter. Together, they work on projects that blend photography, public art and storytelling, creating layered visual records that honour both people and place.

At its heart, Rolling Stills is about more than taking photographs. It’s about slowing down, paying attention, and telling stories that last.
