AUSTRALIAN EVENTS MISSION
Capturing the Spirit of Regional Australia – From rodeos to race meets, festivals to iconic outback traditions, Angela Butler brings your event to life through vibrant, storytelling photography. Book now to preserve the moments that matter.
After completing a full lap of Australia documenting life on the road, Angela Butler is now based in Western Australia’s South West. Along the way, she photographed some of the country’s most enduring regional events — from dusty rodeos and country race meets to bush festivals and the last of the old-world boxing troupes.
These events are more than dates on a calendar. They are moments of connection, tradition and resilience, held together by the communities who keep showing up year after year. Angela’s work focuses on capturing that spirit — the atmosphere, the people, and the fleeting moments that give each event its meaning.
While her travels have paused, her connection to rural Australia has not. Now working from the South West, Angela continues to photograph events across WA and regional Australia, bringing with her a deep understanding of place, people and story.
Rolling Stills offers event photography that goes beyond coverage — creating visual records that honour the importance of these gatherings and the communities behind them.
Rolling Stills & Shakey: A Creative Partnership on the Road
Rolling Stills & Shakey: A Creative Partnership on the Road
Photography meets live art in the Australian outback.
Ange Butler and Jacob "Shakey" Butler have carved out a unique space in the Australian creative scene — combining documentary photography and live art to capture and celebrate the spirit of regional Australia. Their partnership is more than a marriage — it’s a creative collaboration forged on red dirt roads, community events, and a shared love for storytelling.
Together, they’re building an art trail that spans the country, weaving through agricultural shows, dusty racetracks, tiny towns, and vast open spaces. As they travel, Ange documents the faces, stories, and landscapes of rural Australia, while Shakey paints live at events, offering his signature "live wedding art" experience and large-scale murals that reflect the local environment and culture.
Their shared goal?
To preserve and celebrate regional identity through visual art — creating a living, travelling exhibition of the people, places, and moments that define the heart of Australia.
What They Offer:
-
Event Documentation – Ange captures authentic images that celebrate local life and community spirit.
-
Live Painting Experiences – Shakey paints on site, offering a unique performance and a lasting artwork.
-
Collaborative Storytelling – Through murals, exhibitions, and social content, they tell regional Australia’s stories in real time.
Together, they bring something rare: art that moves with the people, honours the past, and uplifts the spirit of community resilience. Whether it's a bush race, a local rodeo, or a town hall wedding, Ange and Shakey are there to document and create, leaving behind more than just a memory — they leave a mark.
